¡Bienvenido! Willkommen! ようこそ! Welcome!

However your home says "Welcome!" make sure it says a little bit about you, too! The entry way gives your home's first impression: make it a good one! Make your foyer fashionable, functional, and totally unforgettable by implementing these design ideas- you (or your guests!) will feel right at home as soon as you walk in. Enjoy!

This entry way says 'Welkom thuis!'- it's very European and modern. Without wasting any space, this design is highly efficient and useful, yet incredibly sleek and smooth. I love the wood texture mixed with the clean, bright white!

Bam! This entry has a life of its own. Wild zebra rug, chunky console table paired with a white bold mirror on a grey wall sure makes a statement. Mixing straight lines with organic forms is a great way to give more interest to the space.

Clearly you have exquisite taste! The clear chair, mirrored table, and glass decor let light travel through and bounce off surfaces to visually maximize space, while the bursts of color maximize style!

Welcome to a world of wonder! This entry way mixes natural elements with classic and vintage designs to create a wonderful walk-in.

Say 'Honey, I'm home!' without dropping a thing. This metal apparatus is convenient, classy, and keeps you organized! You will never have to hear your honey ask 'Where are my keys?' again.

Not sure where to put your stuff when you walk in? Hang on- there's a place for that! These hanging-storage duos are on double-duty! Notice the color accents inside the bins? Love it! Perfect for a back door, utility room entry.

Rock-a-bye Baby!

These rooms are sure to rock your baby's world-- in a comfortable, relaxing, and adorable way, of course! Neutral-gender designs for baby are more popular than ever- and cuter than ever. Here are a few bright and gender-neutral rooms that any mommy-to-be will love. Enjoy!

Yo Gabba Gabba! The bright green dresser and bold horizontal stripes remind me of the fun and silly children's cartoon.

Whale of a tale! These soothing colors make it easy for putting baby to bed after a bedtime story.

Style as easy as ABC! Just adding the mid-century modern rocking chair brings sophistication to baby's room, but keeps it as simple as ABC!

Orange may be a gender-neutral color, but this room is cute to the extreme! Notice the crib: 'fragile' with an arrow pointing up- love it!

Baby will love the yellow striped ceiling as he or she lies in the crib! Also, black furniture may not be typical in a nursery, but as your baby grows up, the black furniture will suit him or her just fine.
The room's neutral colors are relaxing while the touch of orange offers just enough stimulation- perfect balance for baby!

Not Your Average Coffee Table

Coffee tables often get over looked in a design, but what about making it the feature! More akin to a piece of art than a necessity. These are some not so boring coffee tables that are sure to pump your room up. Enjoy!

This one reminds me of the matchbox car tracks I had as a kid. It provides fun table space without making a big footprint, which can really open up a room.

Perfect for a music lover, possibly in a studio or a space that could use a little musical influence. Solid wood provide a durable surface while chrome plated legs give this piece stability.

I love the way transparent coffee tables exhibit the functionality of wood or metal but allow visual breathing room.

Do you love fish? More specifically keeping them as pets? Keeping an aquarium as a coffee table is a great conversation piece. Visually entertaining and space saving this can liven up the right space.

A very, um, dynamic piece. Albeit potentially disturbing, this creative piece provides some “life” to an otherwise boring space.

Wood is too often ignored and its full potential as a creative medium overlooked. These two examples maintain a natural theme but retain function as well.

A little funky, but that’s what this is all about! I like the contrasting color integrating a human touch to it.

My Kind of Style: Vintage Modern Dining Rooms

Vintage Modern.  For those who know me, this is what I would be if I were a style.  Stylish, fresh yet classic.  These dining rooms give a sense of warmth, homeyness but edgy at the same time.  The best designs are always created with the owner in mind; how they live and what kind of feeling they get when you walk into one of these understated dining rooms. You have a table you love but no "matching" chairs? No need to fret none of these chairs do such a thing and yours don't have to either! Enjoy!

Who needs matching chairs? If you can't decide which chair would look best with your fantastic table....get one of each! Its easy and if one needs replacing that won't be that hard, just pick another chair you like. Keeping them in the same color family keeps a cohesive look.

Bam! How about a wild print on the chairs? Kartell makes these and they are stunning. A modern version of a classic chair.

White Tulip chairs are iconic, and partnered with a large old farm table make both elements stand alone and give each other the attention they deserve!

Love the color palette here, soft, soothing colors paired with clean lines makes a comfortable room. Mid century modern furniture in a traditional interior space is a perfect partnership.

White on White: Traditional lines but painted one color gives a modern look. This is easy too! Thrift stores and antique shops always have old traditional furniture but look what some paint does to them!
Ta Da! They have new life!

Stylish Bookshelves....Yes Please!

Everyone has books and no matter how many you have, you need somewhere to store or display them. I love growing my own book collection and if i had somewhere fashionable to display them would be even better. Here are some bookshelves that make a statement in any room. Let me know your favorite. Enjoy!

U S of A! Such a great idea.  Even leaves room for you to grow thanks to it being over sized.

Now you know your ABCs.  Fantastic idea for teaching kids to read as well as organizing the titles of each book.

This would make a great room divider.  Against a wall would look good too! doesn't take up too much space yet gives you plenty of storage.

Tree motifs are always nice,  gives a space some organic personality.  This is definitely a floor space saver, taking advantage of vertical opportunities.

This thinking bubble is too cool. Placing it behind a sofa makes for some humor for whom ever sits in front of it.

Alice in wonderland? Well maybe not but this cartoon style bookshelf is playful and has lots of character, that can be added to any room for some color or just something a little different.

Organize That Kitchen!

Kitchens see the most traffic and use of any of the rooms in your home. So, obviously, it would serve you best if your kitchen were organized with enough storage space. When you take the plunge and tackle a full kitchen renovation, keep every detail in mind. Sure, include lots of cabinets. But spend some time and really think through how little details can make your new kitchen yours. Here are a few ideas I’ve come across and fell in love with. Enjoy.

Don’t be afraid to use hooks for storage if you find yourself short on cabinet real estate. Include a colored wall to liven up your space.

Do you have limited counter space and or don’t want to display your fifteen appliances all the time? A swinging or sliding shelf is a great way to allow use or access without having to drag a heavy mixer from a cabinet the few times you actually use it.

Those sponges that are so ugly now have a convenient hiding spot!  Stainless is always a great material for the kitchen too! easy to clean doesn't rust and looks great!

Underneath most sinks is a pile of cleaning supplies. I love this idea as a way to organize and again allow access to the entirety of the space. Installing a “U” shaped drawer will help you keep this nice and neat.

Finding a way to use otherwise wasted space is a necessity in some kitchens. By installing a toe-kick drawer you can store flat items that you may not use often.

I’ve always hated corner cabinets since my reach is limited. I basically have to crawl into the thing to get items from the back. Very inconvenient to store stuff you use often. These are a fantastic solution as they allow access and visibility to everything.

Bring the Outside in!

I love being in nature. Who doesn’t? The feeling of tranquility can’t be matched by man-made designs. I want to show you ways to bring the outside, inside so you can enjoy nature without leaving your home.
House plants are nice. They provide a little color and give you something to do when they need water. But how about an entire garden inside? I mean, why not? If you’re willing to have a handful of potted plants inside, it’s not that far off to include a garden with your interior.

Of course, planting indoors is more involved than buying a few potted plants at Home Depot, but the reward, feel and uniqueness are well worth the effort. Below are a few ideas that can be integrated into a well designed interior and bring color, life and a focal point to your space. Enjoy!
